The Eye of the Ocean
The Eye of the Ocean project is made of 3 parts:
- A set of three fully custom-designed decks of cards
- An archaeofantasy novel that takes place in the age of sails, presented in the timeless format of a hardcover book.
- A captivating multi-platform puzzle that just a few will solve.
This campaign marks the second phase of the project, wherein the first and the second part of the novel are consolidated within a Tomus Unicum.
Three decks of cards bear the names of ancient bloodlines that once inhabited the Eye of the Ocean—a megalithic sailing island, the venerable guardian of the seas from a bygone, antediluvian era.
You find the deck names in the Bible, specifically in the Old Testament when the sacred scriptures recount the chronicles of the human beings interacting with these mythical entities. Even if the decks are called with these ancient Hebrew names, the project is not based on religion. It is an archaeofantasy project where I’ve drawn inspiration from pieces of history, religion, myths, and legends, weaving them into the fabric of this ancient sailing island.

The offer
The offer consists of four different decks: Gibborim, Malakim, Nephilim and Windwatchers.
Custom design:
Gibborim
The Gibborim (Heroes) were mighty warriors mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, known for their strength and heroic deeds in battle. On the Eye of the Ocean they settled on the eastern side of the island.
The tuckbox features a burgundy base color, gold and copper foil, embossed areas, and a special design with elongated flap with cutouts designed to show specific portions.
Malakkim
The Malakim (Messengers) are celestial entities that act as intermediaries, described as messengers or agents of the divine. On the Eye of the Ocean, they populate the western side of the island.
The tuckbox features a teal base color, gold and aquamarine foil, embossed areas, and a special design with elongated flap with cutouts designed to show specific portions. Additionally, the box features an inner print depicting ancient temples of the Malakim.
Nephilim
The Nephilim (Giants), mentioned in biblical texts, are enigmatic figures believed to be the offspring of divine beings and humans, often described as giants. Inhabiting the forests and underground tunnels of the Eye of the Ocean, the Nephilim played a crucial role in the construction of this vessel.
The tuckbox features a sandstone base color, gold and blue foil, embossed areas, and a special design with elongated flap with cutouts designed to show specific portions of the back design of the deck. Nephilim features cards with gilded edges in gold.
Windwatchers
They are the guardians of the tower, specialized in astronomy, astrology, meteorology, and navigation. They study the winds, give weather predictions and route indications to the helm station at the top of the temple of the sun.
This limited variant, crafted in 2023, was originally created as part of an annual reward to Stockholm17 Patreon patrons. A reserve of 70 units remains and is now presented as a limited reward in this campaign. Each deck is numbered, signed, sealed with the XVII golden sigil, and housed in a protective acrylic carat case. The Windwatcher edition shares the same faces as the 3 main variants.
