Decklist for the December 2024 Duel Trial event.
This event is made for fast and intense duels!
The whole gimmick here is that the player LP are set to 2025 instead of 8000. This means duels are a lot faster and strategies that would usually not be viable, might be in this format.
What I personally like about this event is that duels are super fast, and that’s how I quickly completed my Duel Pass. There’s also lots of base rewards, as the Duel Score is generally higher than average:
The reason why FTK BURN is so successful here is that 2025 LP of effect damage is very easily done in 1 turn.
Using this deck, even if turn one didn’t work out, you can still finish up in turn 2.
I’ve built it in such a way that even going second you’ll most likely survive long enough for that “OTK” burn.
That said I’ve used the below decklist at first, but realised it could still be improved, resulting in the second one.
You can try them both and see which one works best for you.
As mentioned before you IDEALLY want to go first, so whenever you win the coinflip: go first.
When you go first it’s always good to check opponents triggers (does their field light up when summoning a monster, or with other actions),
just to see what they might have or are playing.
For example: if their field lights up only after summoning a monster, you should be prepared for the Infinite Impermanence on their turn.
These small triggers might help when necessary when calculating the lines to victory (more and more players are taking FTK Burn into account when deckbuilding in this event).
Cards you want to play first, for several reasons are: Dark Room of Nightmare (just extra damage, no use without other cards), Goblin Thief (IF you get countered, at least you’ll have the increase in LP), Pots (to broaden your options and strategy) Cards played best later are : Contract with Don Thousand (opponent might draw into outs), Chain Energy (obviously as this’ll hurt us as well)

For those interested I’ll also add the opponent’s decklists here as well:
